RESCO Highlights Contributions to Ethiopia’s Growth at Major Industry Event
Ries Engineering Share Company, RESCO hosted an event at the Addis Ababa Golf Club, attended by notable figures including Engineer Habtamu Tegegn, Minister of Mines of the FDRE, and executives from Komatsu and Cummins. The gathering highlighted RESCO’s significant contributions to Ethiopia’s development over its 60-plus years of operation.
Founded in 1961, RESCO has grown from 40 employees to a workforce of 507, establishing itself as a leader in the mining, construction, power, agricultural, and automotive sectors. The company provides a range of products, including Komatsu machinery for mining and construction, Cummins power systems, Massey Ferguson agricultural equipment, and Ford vehicles.
During the event, RESCO emphasized its role in major national projects, including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), where it supplied construction machinery and technical support. The company also plays a crucial role in powering significant infrastructures, such as Ethio Telecom and Ethiopian Airlines, through its power generation solutions.
Additionally, RESCO operates a Technical Training Center that develops skilled manpower, ensuring that its graduates are competitive in the African and Middle Eastern job markets. The collaboration announced at the event between RESCO, Komatsu, and Cummins is expected to further enhance the capabilities of Ethiopia’s industrial sector.
