Farewell to Ethiopia’s Football Legend

Asrat Haile is one of the most prominent personalities in Ethiopian football. In a career that spanned half-century, Asrat acquired several roles as a footballer, head coach, and senior official in the Ethiopian Football Federation. Known for his sharp words and confident demeanour, Asrat has played an immense role in elevating Ethiopia’s football to the next level. He was admired by his former players and adored by the public. After spending the last couple of years struggling with an illness, Asrat sadly passed away on October 25, 2024. EBR’s Dr. Brook Genene pays tribute to one of Ethiopia’s biggest footballing heroes.

ZamZam Bank, in partnership with Kifiya Financial Technology, launched “Ansar Digital Financing,” Ethiopia’s first full-fledged Sharia-compliant digital financing service.

Bunna Bank and Kacha Digital Financial Services have launched a pre-salary loan service, Abol Demoze, aimed at addressing the financial needs of salaried employees.

This innovative service allows employees to access up to 33% or 50% of their salary digitally before payday through the Kacha mobile application. With a flexible installment repayment option, Abol Demoze is designed to provide financial relief during cash shortages, making payday stress a thing of the past.
