Geez Education and Training Brings Global Expertise to Ethiopia Amid Historic Capital Market Rollout

Geez Education and Training Plc signed two landmark Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with California State University, the Global Academy of Finance and Management (GAFM), and the American Academy of Project Management (AAPM). The agreement introduces 275 internationally recognized training programs, starting with 48 fields delivered in a hybrid format of online and in-person instruction. These include courses in capital markets, finance and project management, technology, business, and research. The initiative also promotes innovation through STEM-focused courses, research opportunities, and international student exchange programs. It aims to bridge the gap between education and industry demands, equipping professionals with the expertise to drive sustainable economic growth.

Tewolde Zemichael, Co-founder and CEO of Geez Education and Training, stated that the collaboration comes at a critical time as Ethiopia prepares to launch its capital market. He highlighted the importance of human capital development for the initiative’s success, emphasizing that the partnership will create a globally competitive workforce equipped with internationally recognized certifications.

The initiative supports Ethiopia’s Digital Ethiopia 2025 vision, which aims to empower youth with the skills needed to compete globally. Dr. Yeshurun Alemayehu, Minister of Innovation and Technology, noted that the program complements national efforts like the “5 Million Coders” initiative, enabling Ethiopian youth to access international opportunities and work remotely for global companies.

The collaboration provides Ethiopian students with access to foreign education, practical training, and globally accepted qualifications. Leaders of GAFM and AAPM emphasized the program’s role in addressing challenges related to certification acceptance and improving employability.

With GAFM’s four decades of expertise and CSU’s nearly two-century legacy, the partnership brings internationally tested solutions and unmatched credibility to Ethiopia, marking a transformative step toward economic and educational progress.
