Ethiopian Business Review

In a session held today, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed reshuffled his cabinet, of which half are women, a move said to be the first of its kind in Ethiopia.

Muferiat Kemal, who resigned from her post as Speaker of the Parliament, was assigned to lead the new Ministry of Peace, which has never existed in Ethiopia. Fetlework G. Egziabher, EPRDF Secretariat, has become the Minister of Trade & Industry. Adanech Abebe, former mayor of Adama City, Ayisha Ahmed, former Minister of Construction, became ministers of Revenue and Defence, respectively. Dagmawit Moges, who is currently a deputy mayor of Addis Ababa, will be Minister of Transport.
