Ethiopia Airlines to Stop Flying to Asmara as Eritrea Suspends All Commercial Flights

Ethiopian Airlines will suspend its commercial flights to Asmara as of today midnight following the measure of Eritrean government, which banned all commercial flights in a bid to fight COVID-19.

Eritrea decided to put the ban, effective as of March 25 mid-night, immediately after it confirmed three more cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to four.

The ban will remain effective for two weeks until further review, said Eritrea’s Ministry of Information in its latest press release.

All of patients of COVID-19 are Eritrean nationals who came from Dubai last Saturday.
