Board sets Aug. 29 as Final Date for 2020 Election
Electoral Board declared August 29 2020 as a final date for the upcoming national election. This comes a month after the Board proposed August 16 as a tentative date for national vote.
The Board, in a conference that is being held at Sky Light Hotel, disclosed that it made an adjustment after taking inputs from different stakeholders into consideration. All inputs that are required to conduct the election are already procured and put in store, the Board said.
Manual for election is also being drafted in five languages, including Amahric and Afan Oromo. Voter ID Card, which cannot be reprinted, is also prepared, the Board said.
The last poll held in Ethiopia was in 2015.
