Attorney General Drops Charges Against Ermias Amelga
Attorney General decided to drop the charges brought against the renowned businessman, Ermias T. Amelga, EBR confirmed. He is amongst 63 defendants whose court cases dropped by the Federal Prosecutors.
Founder and Former Chief Executive Officer of Access Real Estate, Ermias has been put behind bars since January 2019 after being suspected of involving in transferring the former Imperial Hotel to MetEC for ETB72 million without a proper procurement process.
Ermias, along with Officials of METEC, Biniam Tewolde, former Head of Information Network Security Agency (INSA) and Christian Tadele, Former Communications Head of Amhara National Movement (ANM), is expected to be released from prison in the coming days upon getting an approval from the Federal High court, Office of Attorney General announced.
The Office has also dropped charges brought against Alem Fitsum, Managing Director of Alemgenet Trade & Industry Plc.
